International Air Freight Companies Prevent Global Warming Increasing

What can  the international air freight industry which is at the center of some controversy surrounding global warning do to prevent increasing?

For many years it has only been scientists, environmental charities and eco warriors who have been concerned about the greenhouse effect and for the majority of us we did not think that us or our grandchildren would be troubled by the results of us polluting the earth.

But things have now changed and most world leader's have put the environmental problem at the top of their agendas and this has moved the subject very much into main stream public debate. There have been green taxes implemented as well as getting people to buy unleaded petrol instead of the leaded version. As we are now seeing we are all being affected by the damage done to our environment and so we now need to do something about it before it is too late.

However the air freight industry is being challenged to become more green and there are a number of International Air Freight Companies who have introduced what is known as "offset policies".

So what this means is that every time some cargo is flown around the world the International Air Freight Company in question is investing a certain amount of money into environmental projects as well.

But there are some critics of these companies who say that this is simply not good enough and that they should in fact be trying to reduce the carbon emissions that their aircraft produce rather than just doing something good for the environment in order to balance the books.

Reports are showing that carbon emissions were expected to reach 25 billion tons in 2006 and of this amount between 4-7% would be caused by air travel which includes air freight in this figure.

An agreement signed by many European countries known as the Kyoto Protocol Agreement are committed to reducing the carbon emissions for signatory countries and it aims to do this by setting limits for 2008-2012.

Unfortunately the USA declined not to sign the agreement.

But there is hope that this agreement along with the offset policies being adopted by a lot of the international air freight company's will produce the changes that this planet so desperately needs.

Murcia is a Large International Center

The independent Spanish territory of Murcia borders the city of Alicante on the map near Torrevieja within the region of Costa Blanca. When you drive through the district in your rented car, you will admire the attractive surroundings including the celebrated salt marshes at San Pedro del Pinatar. It is here you'll realize you're in the capital region. Nearby there is a lagoon named Mar Menor (or the small sea) which is separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a sandy spread of terrain. This Spanish region experiences very hot summers with mild and short winters

A visit to Murcia or Alicante puts you face to face with extraordinary architecture and civilization before heading out to explore some contemporary happenings such as nightlife, filled with wonderful food.

A quick flight to the air terminal of San Javier and you're about a 30-minute drive from the city.

Alternatively, you can land at the Alicante airport of Altet that is about a 40 minute drive from the hotel bed that will be there for you. Murcia is a large international center with greater than five hundred thousand people. The climate is warm with sunny days and pleasant people..

Easter Week
During Easter week, the parade leading to Easter Sunday and the spring festivals, Murcia is one of the most important centers in Spain. Situated in the environs of the sanctuary of Fuensanta dating from the 1700s is the patron saint. This slight figure of this good saint is always paraded about on the shoulders of the faithful from the chapel to the cathedral through a dedicated throng at Easter and during a Murcia celebration in summer.

Muslim and Medieval Influence
With a Muslim influence and medieval atmosphere, a celebrated gastronomy awaits you in this capital.

There are great festivities, which will please visitors and these have drawn visitors to Murcia year after year spotlighting this city each summer where especially the musical enjoyment has been appreciated.

The local Cathedral, dating back from the 1300s to the 1700s is a collection of more than five hundred years of different architectural fashions; such as Baroque engraved art on the front entrance of the Pardon arches, the Gothic Church of Velez, The Renaissance cathedral and a symbolic tower standing 96 meters enclosing 25 bells.

Just before leaving this region, you have the opportunity to spend some time at the incredible beach resort in that city called Aguilas and it is here that you will leave behind the region. As you drive your rental car through the region, you'll notice that the terrain curves around a peak in the highway and heads toward the important town of Cartagena. From your car window, you will soon see five famous blue tile domes of the Cathedral of 1623 and surrounding buildings of the famous fortress of Cartagena appears.

Global Warming Is Hurting Us

The world is increasingly warming. This is largely due to the emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from human activities including industrial processes, fossil fuel combustion and changes in land use, such as deforestation. These are the findings contained in the latest report of the UN-backed intergovernmental panel on Climate Change which was released in February 2007. The Indian environmentalist Dr. R.K.P., the director General of Energy and resources Institute is the Chairman of the panel.

The report warns that continuations of historical trends of green house gas emissions will result in additional warning over the 21 century, with current projections of a global increase of 2.5 F to 10.4 F by 2100. The greenhouse effect has been part of the earth working since its earliest days. Gases like carbon dioxide and methane allow sunlight to reach the earth, but prevent some of the resulting heat from radiating back out into space.

Without the greenhouse effect the planet would never have warmed enough to allow life to form.

But as ever larger amounts of carbon dioxide have been released along with the development of industrial economies, the atmosphere has grown warmer at an accelerating rate. Since 1970, temperatures have gone up at nearly 3 times the average for the 20 th century. The global climate is likely to rise between 3.5 and 8 degrees Fahrenheit if the carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere reaches twice the level of 1750. By 2100, sea levels are likely to rise between 7 to 23 inches resulting in gradual inundation of coastal areas and increasing beach erosion and flooding from coastal storms, changes in precipitation patterns, increased risk of droughts and floods, threats to bio-diversity and a number of potential challenge for public health.

Warning About Global Warming

When our planet becomes a fiery place as the prediction of the global warming alarmists, all of human life and human development will be on fire to a crisp on the scorched surface of the globe.

It is believed that the cause of global warming is the people’s emissions of CO2 into the atmosphere.

In fact on one graph they will show you the increased in CO2 emissions from human civilizations and then they will show you another graph that charts the 1 1/2 percent increase in ambient surface temperatures on the planet over a 50 year period. Then they will say; see everyone, can see the data, obviously this is being cause by mankind?

About 6 years ago someone began tracking the sales of Prozac and began showing a chart of their sales next door to the chart of the stock market and the economy. When the sales of Prozac went up it matched the graph of the stock market. Nevertheless we know that the sales of Prozac have nothing to do whatsoever with the stock market or our nation's economy overall. And if so, just give every one Prozac to make the economy good, See everyone, can you see the data?

It should be a relatively easy consideration if you study logic and critical thinking, however apparently if the mass media says something over and over again enough times everyone will start believing it, which is completely and utterly ridiculous. But that is exactly what we have here with global warming.

Is it really global warming caused by mankind or is it more a global warning that there are cyclical changes occurring on earth with regards to our atmosphere and ambient surface temperatures? From a global warning perspective it does make sense to strengthen our civilizations and our infrastructure to handle the potential issues that lie ahead.

It does not make sense to crush our energy sector and weaken our economies over fear tactics that are completely invalid. If it is our intention to stop polluting that is a good thing. We should focus on that. Not the fear of global warming or some massive crisis that plagues the future of all living life on the service of the planet. I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse subjects, which interest you.

Negative Effects of Global Warming

There are many predicted effects for the environment and for human life due to global warming. The main effect centres around an increase in the global average temperature. It's been confirmed by at least 20 scientific societies and academies of science, as well as all the national academies of science of the G8 states, that the Earth's global average air temperature near its surface rose by 0.56-0.92 C (0.98-1.62 F) degrees during the last 100 years. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes that this increase is very likely due to the "observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations, which leads to the warming of the surface and lower atmosphere by increasing the greenhouse effect."

For humans, these changes in climate are particularly dangerous to those who live near the ocean shore and who already suffer from drought, flooding, and poverty.

The IPCC concludes from models that global temperatures will likely rise by 1.1 to 6.4 C (2.0 to 11.5 F) degrees between 1990 and 2100, with the range of temperatures due to the use of differing scenarios of future greenhouse gas emissions and varying degrees of climate sensitivity.

Other effects of global warming include a rising sea level and changes in the amount and pattern of precipitation.

In addition, there may be more frequent and intense weather events, such as more intense hurricanes, tornados, tsunamis, thunderstorms, blizzards, etc., though it is difficult to connect specific events to global warming.

Global warming is also causing changes in agricultural yields, glacier retreat, reduced summer stream flows, species extinctions, and increases in the ranges of disease vectors.

The increased volumes of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases released by the burning of fossil fuels, land clearing, agriculture, and other human activities are the major reasons why global warming has been occurring and increasing over the last 50 years.

Effects of global warming are expected to cause more changes as it becomes more pronounced; examples include the following projected climate changes (from Wikipedia):

- "A significant slowing of the ocean circulation that transports warm water to the North Atlantic; - Large reductions in the Greenland and West Antarctic Ice Sheets; - Accelerated global warming due to carbon cycle feedbacks in the terrestrial biosphere, and - Releases of terrestrial carbon from permafrost regions and methane from hydrates in coastal sediments."

It is uncertain whether for sure these events will occur or to what severity they will occur if they do, but most believe that the chances of at least one of the above events occurring are likely to increase the longer and more severe climate change becomes.

Some scientific members argue whether there will be positive effects from global warming, but most agree that any positive effects will be greatly outnumbered by the number of negative effects.

Projected climate changes due to global warming have the potential to greatly and irreversibly change our climate that will have lasting impacts on both the continental and global scales. One effect will be increased precipitation, due to the increasing temperature.

As Earth's temperature continues to rise, a very recent report from the IPCC shows that there will be an increasing impact to natural systems and people, especially those who live in Earth's poorer nations. In 2002, Colorado, Arizona, and Oregon endured their worst wildfire season ever. Also in 2002, drought created severe dust storms that caused hundreds of millions of dollars of damage in Texas, Montana, and North Dakota. Since the early 1950s, snow accumulation has decreased by 60%, which has led to some areas of the Cascade Range in Oregon and Washington to have shorter winter seasons.

As you can see, effects of global warming are very negative on our planet already, from increased air temperatures to rises in the sea level to more severe storms. Currently, it is a challenge to predict how many effects global warming will have and how strong those effects will be, but most of the scientific community is predicting that global warming will have more negative effects on our planet and way of life the longer and more severe climate change becomes.

Global Warming Or A Myth - Well Who Cares Because They Are Both Wrong When You Read This

It probably says a lot about how far we have come as a society that in 2008, environmental policy across business and government is not an afterthought or a footnote on an agenda to bear in mind. However when you consider that it has taken the erosion of our selfish liberties like how much water we are able to use and how much it is now costing us at the petrol bowser for us to reevaluate our priorities. This combined with the guilt of a movie like an 'Inconvenient Truth' and a Generation Y screaming for change now reach both voting age and positions of influence and financial clout that a true picture can really be seen.

We have now signed The Kyoto Protocol. Many say; "So What" as these two poignant questions still remain; Have we really done anything more than cosmetic change? And are we implementing change at a fast enough pace given our tardy start?

If we examine the technological industry minus the hysterics that often accompany these debates, one could draw the conclusion that little progress is being made at all.

One of our biggest issues is e-waste and we are all guilty of this pleasure fueling this problem. If you ponder a moment the 2000s and your own home circumstances as best as you can recall.

In your household, how many TVs, mobile phones and computers have you owned collectively in this decade? As a rough guide the average modern middle class family averages a mobile phone per person in a home and replaces a phone once every two years. Then houses these days tend to have almost as many computers (particularly if you include gaming consoles like Nintendo Wii or Sony Playstation) as household members and updating these every 3 years or so.

Finally TVs, partly due to the lowering of costs over the past 15 years and the rapid advances in technology, are also being replaced more often than 15 years ago.

In the case of mobile phones and computers particularly, the resale value of an 'old' device (i.e. 2 years for phone, 3 years for computer) is so low and technology advances so rapid that devices themselves become redundant means that in the most part this all becomes E-Waste! So if you extrapolate all those figures across all the households in your neighbourhood, let alone Australia wide or globally, it equates to a lot of sizeable and toxic waste and you may wonder where this all ends up.

Money is a powerful and persuasive tool and like many of our business problems we face today, we outsource it. For the better part of this decade, old computers particularly have been shipped to 3rd world countries like Asia where cheap village labor strips the old parts for usable materials like tin or copper causing both visable and untold damage to the local environment and ultimately the inhabitants. While steps have been made as the decade has progressed to recycle old devices, the energy and pollutant costs in establishing such facilities may outweigh the overall benefit.

What can you do?

Well you can control where you make your purchases as 2006 Greenpeace study showed that Nokia and Dell rated most highly for eliminating toxic waste in their products and having sound e-waste management policies. Surprisingly Apple, often lauded for being innovative and cutting edge, rated near the bottom along with Lenovo (IBMs notebook partner) and Motorola. Australian company 1800 EWaste claims to be the nations biggest computer recycler and come to your place of business or home to pickup old devices. As mentioned with these types of services earlier, you should bear in mind the recycling policies of the company and where and how things are done. Alternatively donating old devices to schools, community centers and groups, charities (both national and international) and even within your family or social groups can put perfectly good devices to continued use.

Finally using resources like Greener Computing, organisations, government bodies and individuals can develop longer term e-waste management solutions so the entire purchase, usage and disposal cycle is following an overall environmental plan to ensure that other important issues like energy efficiency and pollution levels are also accounted for in your decisions.

If nothing else, the most pertinent point to digest from all of this is that, Kyoto means little without individual and collective action. This action as stated does not need to be that much or even that revolutionary and begins with just awareness of the issue. Ask yourself if that .50 per hour that the villagers in Asia are being reportedly paid to sort through your Waste is something you want to live with now and for your children's future?

Global Warming Attacking Body Pollution

Global warming is a serious issue and this is not only referring to one country but it deals with seven continents around the world. Climate change is a big issue at present even in the future times. This article is a big help for those who are taking the subjects in Science and Technology, Faculties and students of Biology from other schools and universities.

According to Karin Lindinger, the meaning of global warming is the increase of the average temperature on earth. This definition has something to do with climate change. People around the world must understand that global warming must be stop at all cost in order to show that all things we do that cause our ozone layer in order to receive giant holes.

Readers and viewers must take note that body pollution is a pollution that affects the chemical substances that came from indoor or outdoor pollution, food that they came from chemical substances that could damaged our organs and body systems.

They must understand that even if this is a broad topic, the most important part of this article is how they understand this meaning. So far as I am concern, there is nobody made a real definition of body pollution.

This is how the body pollution attacks. Once a foreign substance enters the body, it has to be detoxified and made water soluble in order to be safely eliminated. The liver and the kidneys are the main organs that is responsible for detoxification while the lungs, skin and intestines also play an important role in the human body system. When the main organ systems have more toxins than they can handle, it is still active or partially deactivated chemicals are stored in the fatty tissues which could possibly affect in the brain and central nervous systems.

After this, it will slowly show some reactive and toxic compounds can be released into the bloodstream, disrupting the systems of the body and causing premature aging and disease.

There is a saying "If there is a problem, there is a solution".

According to the article of Paul Kramer, the solution for fighting body pollution is our guide to use food supplements to optimize our health and protect your body from the environment we live in. Second, is to discover the basic foods that boost the immune system and shield your body from disease. Third, incorporating the latest in stress reduction and exercise techniques in order to maximize their energy levels.

The moral lesson is very basic and simple, protect and love the environment because we are the future in the global society. Government agencies must have an action before its too late to become a disastrous planet.
